STEVE VANZANT

Steven Vanzant was born in the windy city of Chicago where he spent the majority of his childhood. After a stint there his family moved to the rural area of Houston, MS. While living in Chicago, his passion for cutting hair was born. Steve’s Uncle Sam would give him five-star haircuts while telling funny jokes and giving words of wisdom. At the age of twelve Steve was on a stroll with his mom when she bought a tool that would one day change his life forever – a pair of clippers. Steve experienced with those clippers on friends, family members, and just about anyone that would allow. It was at that time in Steve’s life when he decided he wanted to be a barber. 

 

However, it wasn’t until Steve moved to Tupelo, MS that he put his dream into motion by enrolling in CNK barber school. Today, Steve has over a decade of experience behind the chair changing external appearances and building internal confidence. 

 

For Steve, men’s grooming is not just a haircut, but creating art through the strokes of his hand onto the canvas of the client’s hair. As the owner and operator of Vanzant Barbershop Lounge, Steve’s mission is to provide an upscale and exceptional men’s grooming experience to his community and share his artistic ability with current and future barbers.
